Steve Wallentine - Principal
Steve Wallentine opened Pembroke Capital Inc.'s Dallas operation in December 2007.
Steve brings important perspective and judgment to Pembroke's activities in the
Southwest from his 25 years of multi-faceted experience in commercial real estate.
Before joining Pembroke, Steve was Vice President of Lexington Realty Trust (NYSE-LXP).
Steve joined the Dallas office of LXP in the Asset Management Department in September 2005.
His responsibilities included the acquisition, disposition, leasing, construction, and property
management supervision on abroad portfolio of office and industrial properties in the Southwest.
Steve's public accounting background allowed him to assist with important policy and procedure
enhancements to support LXP's rapid growth and its reporting requirements as a public company.
From 1997 to 2005, Steve provided real estate asset management services at ABEL Partners to
Fidelity Investments and its affiliates. At the time of his departure from ABEL, Steve was
Managing Director with overall responsibility for client service delivery and internal operations.
From 1988 to 1997, Steve worked in various capacities with The Vantage Companies, a national real
estate development company. From his initial position as Senior Financial Manager, Steve was asked
to assume CFO duties of MetVan Property Company, a nationwide joint venture between Vantage and MetLife.
Subsequently, Steve headed-up Vantage's Partnership Tax Department, with responsibility for tax projections
and tax returns for over three hundred partnerships.
From 1983 to 1988, Steve worked in a financial capacity for T.F. Stone Companies, Inc., a developer of
commercial and residential projects. Starting as Assistant Controller, Steve rose to Controller and
then CFO. Steve performed or supervised all accounting, tax, risk management and IT activities. Steve
installed T.F. Stone's integrated accounting and property management software and implemented disbursement
account procedures.
From 1981 to 1983, Steve worked as an auditor with Deloitte, Haskins & Sells (now Deloitte & Touche).
Steve became a licensed CPA and rose to Senior Accountant before joining a former colleague from Deloitte
at T.F. Stone Companies, Inc.
Steve was a National Merit Scholar at Texas Tech University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a
BBA in Accounting. Steve has continued his professional education through graduate taxation courses at
University of Texas – Dallas, construction training through Construction Education Foundation and several
real estate BOMA courses. Steve is a licensed real estate broker in Texas.
